Since cranes impact such a large segment of work going on at any job site, crane
inspections (to the OSHA Compliance Officer and Project Safety Managers) must
include a survey, or walk around, of the entire operation that questions how the
crane will be operating and how other crafts will be effected by working with
and around the crane? Observation of crane operations prior to an inspection,
or simply asking how cranes have or will be used, can indicate possible problem
areas that may need a closer review during the inspection process.
